Squire Park Spooktacular: Calling all ghouls, goblins, and creative spirits of Squire Park!

It’s time to showcase your Halloween flair in our neighborhood newsletter. Did you know?  Halloween has roots in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, a time when people believed the veil between worlds thinned. This time of year, our diverse community brings together a tapestry of traditions, from Día de los Muertos and the Chinese Ghost Festival to All Saints Day. It is also known as one of the most historically safe times for LGBTQ+ expression and liberation.

In the spirit of inclusion that defines Squire Park, we’re honoring all cultural celebrations. Whether you’re crafting a traditional costume, designing an Afrofuturistic masterpiece, or creating a fabulous drag ensemble, we want you to share with your neighbors!

For a chance to be featured on the Squire Park Community NEW website and in our next newsletter, submit photos of your:

  • Costumes (individual or group).
  • Decorated homes.
  • Cultural altars or displays.

Make this reflect our neighborhood’s rich cultural heritage and continue to foster community connection.; if you want to celebrate a little early, bring Halloween treats or dress up for our next meeting!  Upload your photo to social media with #ScarySquirePark or email submissions to squireparkcc@gmail.com.
