Councilmember Hollingsworth follow up with the Meeting with Community Councils

Below is the follow-up report from CM Hollingsworth’s D3 Meeting with Community Council representatives. Please take note of the  SDOT form, please fill out this form.  I would add that there was an understanding that the meeting was also to help inform her office on how to best organize these meetings. ———- Forwarded message ———

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for attending the District 3 Quarterly Community Council Meeting on Saturday. It was very helpful to hear what each of your neighborhoods is working on and especially hearing where you are having success and difficulty working with City Departments. We really saw the impact of getting representatives from so many neighborhood groups in one room sharing their best practices and collaborating.

Transportation District Funds:

As discussed, we are looking for projects to include in the District Funds that were set aside in the Transportation Levy that was passed last year. The time we have to get these projects sent to SDOT to ensure that we are able to use these funds is very short, please fill out this form as soon as possible so we can make best use of these funds. We will not be able to get any projects shared with our office scoped and shared with SDOT for inclusion after 2/15.

Quarter 2 Meeting:

We heard clearly that there are some serious issues around bathroom access and bus shelter cleanliness; while we will be bringing staff from Seattle Parks and Recreation and King County Metro to the next meeting we also wanted to share some information on what the city has already been working on in bathroom access.

Seattle Parks Restroom Audit

Parks Presentation to Committee on Restroom Audit

Video of the Parks, Public Utilities & Technology Committee Meeting with Reastroom Audit

Please continue to reach out to our office when you see that City Departments are not taking action or being responsive to issues in your neighborhoods, Cameron Yonan (Cameron.Yonan2@seattle.gov) and Henry Pollet (Henry.Pollet@seattle.gov) will be responding to most of these emails and working with City Departments.

Thank you,

Henry Pollet
